I have a 3D graphics program (3D Canvas Pro v6.xxx by Amabilis) I use to create in-game graphics. This particular version has features I need for the work that the next later version does not support...long story on that one. The later version does run on the problem system.
The program works on Windows XP(SP3) just fine. I bought a laptop system running Vista and the program doesn't load giving an error about not being able to configure DirectX. I checked the dxdiag function and everything checked out for Dx11. AMD and Dell have no driver updates for the Mobility Radeon card. I upgraded this system to Windows 7, but the situation didn't change. The program still fails with the same error message.
Here's the rub..... I upgraded another one of my systems...XP>Windows 7 and the program runs fine.
I've tried various compatibility modes and that doesn't work.
Any ideas on what might be the problem?
