    uTorrent downloading problem

    Hello
I am downloading torrents with my u torrent and some time during the download this happens:
An error appears and it says: the requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user mapped section open.... WTF?
it happens to all the files I download
And when it happens I have to press Start again and it gathers speed like 10 mbs and fail again and I press again and it connect>> fails so on..
And a 500MB is downloaded with constant clicking
    please help

not sure anyone could answer that question, as it would show support for illegal downloading.. my suggestion is that you ask utorrent themselves. sorry

Well I am not downloading illegal files...
I read in the utorrent forum that it is caused by AVG sometimes so for everyone who has this error try turning AVG off while downloading.

its almost certain that you hav ea virus that is trying to infect the torrent, this is making utorrent think that teh last packet it corrupt, this makes it recheck the file, it then realises it cannot get exclusive access to it and crashed out. im almost certain this is a virus, maybe spyware.

don't know what your running but get spybot Seek and Destroy it will check for spyware, as for virus killers, you probably have one but there's a trial of kaspersky about, use it, then go back to something like MSE. if you dont want to pay for it. (free antivirus is almost as good anyway)

also there is an option in Utorrent that lets you append the file extention of incompeate files, this makes it clear what has and hasnot finished, it also makes the files invisible to most spyware as its an unknown file type (makes then filename.!ut)

i hope this helps, it it turns out not to be any of this stuff do let me know what it was in the end :P

cool. well at least you got it sorted ( not accusing, just that 99% of the time, utorrent is used for one thing and one thing only - illegal file sharing )

i use bit torrent all the time for legitimate things.

    game patches

freely distributed amateur movies (not porn)

    outsider music

    podcasts

    freely distributed photography

    getting larger game demo's

anyway my point is that you should not just assume people are using utorrent for illegal things, msot ISP's are already doing this and killing the downloads.

just because you CAN use torrent to get illegally obtained stuff it does not mean people ARE using it.

i mean anyone with a rapidshare account can use firefox to get illegal files, we dont instantly assume they are though.

(please excuse rant, its a personal crusade im on lol)

Hear, hear! Bitorrent is huge when it comes to downloading open source applications, operating systems, and games. That's how I get my Linux fix.
