Could it be that your firewall (or some other IP blocking software like PeerBlock) is blocking IDM or the site in question? Check and make sure and make an exception to allow IDM to get through the firewall. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP DV8t quad OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (Retail) CPU i7-Q 720 Motherboard Motherboard Chipset Intel Ibex Peak-M PM55, Intel Lynnfield Memory 6 GB Graphics Card nVidia GeForce GT 230M (1GB) Sound Card IDT High Definition Audio CODEC Monitor(s) Displays 18.4 inch HP Infinity FHD (Samsung 184HT03-001) Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard laptop Mouse Logitech VX Revolution Cooling Zalman NC-2000 notebook cooling pad Hard Drives Hitachi 500GB 7200 rpm (x2)

how can i check if it is blocking? Hi Kup,
A good way of determining if its blocked is by trying to access the site in question using a browser
If you can access the site then I think its a logic problem with IDM and the site, I would contact the developers of IDM for assistance if thats the case.

If the browser can access the site, it means IP blocking software is not preventing access, but it does not necessarily mean a firewall isn't blocking IDM because firewalls block or allow programs to access the net, not necessarily specific sites. So just because a browser can access the site doesn't necessarily mean the firewall isn't blocking IDM from doing the same. My firewall blocks or allows each program separately. So Firefox is allowed to access all sites and IDM is also. But if IDM wasn't, it wouldn't be able to access any sites even though my browser can.
As to how you can check, I only know how the particular firewall I use (Comodo) works and I doubt that would apply to you. But in Comodo, one can check the firewall's "network security policy" to see which programs are being blocked and which are allowed to access the net.
Assuming you are using the Windows Firewall, I suppose there is probably a list (somewhere within the firewall application) of programs that are blocked and programs that are allowed (it may be an exclusion list of programs that are excluded from being blocked). You would need to find and check those lists to see if IDM is being blocked or allowed. However, if IDM can access any sites, it's not being blocked by the firewall. Hopefully, someone who is more familiar with the Windows Firewall will offer some additional information.

The only other thing I can suggest is to look at the configuration options for IDM and play around with some of the settings to see if you can get it to work. Open the main IDM window by double clicking the IDM icon in the system tray, then click options and have a look at the various tabs and settings in there and perhaps try some different settings to see if you can get it to work. For example, make sure IDM is configured to work with your particular browser.
Another thing you could try is completely uninstalling IDM and then reinstalling it.
Otherwise, I suggest you check out IDM's technical support and their support forum, if they have one. You may find better answers there. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP DV8t quad OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (Retail) CPU i7-Q 720 Motherboard Motherboard Chipset Intel Ibex Peak-M PM55, Intel Lynnfield Memory 6 GB Graphics Card nVidia GeForce GT 230M (1GB) Sound Card IDT High Definition Audio CODEC Monitor(s) Displays 18.4 inch HP Infinity FHD (Samsung 184HT03-001) Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard laptop Mouse Logitech VX Revolution Cooling Zalman NC-2000 notebook cooling pad Hard Drives Hitachi 500GB 7200 rpm (x2)
