Sony Vegas Pro 9 Trial Won't Install

I've seen several other threads on this around here, but none of them seem to have any definitive answers. Anyways, I downloaded a Vegas Pro 9 Trial directly from the vendor's website (Sony obviously) and started the install. I ran as administrator, and got to a point where it asked me to install several "Required Components". I clicked OK to install, and quickly got this error message. I have Windows 7 Professional, which I bought legitimately.
    Please Help!

If you're using any cracks, that's probably the cause (and we don't support that here).

Lot's of folks with this issue: vegas pro requirements not met - Google Search

Please make a list of the stuff in the window behind the "Requirements not met" error message. That window shows what's being installed - and checking the system to see if that stuff is actually installed is the place to start.

I'm not using any cracks on Vegas, it's clean downloaded straight from Sony and I'm just trying to use the free trial. However, Vegas Pro 8 was installed and cracked on the same computer. It has since been removed, and to my knowledge there aren't any traces of the install or the crack on my computer. I believe that Vegas says it wants Visual C++ 2005, Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable, and Visual C++ 2008. I'll check those in a little bit, I'm away from the computer that has the problem right now but I'm 99% sure that's what it's asking for.

This thread shouldn't be under the Gaming forum SF moderators, Sony Vegas is a 'Pro Video' editing app. :)

Sony Vegas Pro 9 Trial Won't Install (Oh, really?)

Make sure you are running an un-cracked/patched version of Windows 7. If you are this will never install. (For reasons that are obvious), I will not discuss on how to get around this problem, because it would be contributing to piracy. If you are running a "TRUE" windows 7, just update or install Dot.Net 3.0.

    Dude i found the fix

Ok, this worked for me, but it may not work for you. You downloaded the 64-bit version, correct? Well, download the 32-bit version. Once you have installed that, then you should follow this video: YouTube - How To Get Sony Vegas Pro 9 For Free ( HD Voice Tutorial ) - Full Version With Effects Hope this helped!!

    try this

    try this
right at the moment when the C++ 2005 thingie says it failed (don't close it) you can find the Temp folder where the installer put all the files (it'll all disappear if your Vegas installer quits)
    - find 'vcredist_x86.exe' online (or for 64bit if that matches your setup) & install it
    - open any windows explorer, type in %TEMP% in the address bar (this will be your Temp folder for installs)
    - open folder 'SonyInstall_1' and right click on 'vegas90.msi' (RUN as Admin)
    - worked for me (using setup.exe didn't work this way)
