i can haz snap?

is there a free application that uses your webcam to take pictures, but does not require an internet connection like the flashed-based services?
I just want a simple app that i can install onto my computer and use even when my internet is funky or MIA.
thanks

If your webcam came with drivers, install them and they will come with a program called amcap. If you have installed the drivers then check for C:\windows\amcap.exe

Amcap is the absolutely most common webcam program. Comes with 90% of webcams.

Ok, so I couldnt find a working link. Hopefully the exe can run on it's own.
Unzip it to C:\Windows
AMCAP.zip

I don't believe it. you can download any of 1,000 applications that captures video from your webcam for free, but if you want a photo you need to cough up $15.

I found RGS AvaCam FREE which will work, but it has a couple glaring limitations.
