Windows 7: Yahoo messenger problem

I am new to this forum. Although I have searched but I am sorry if this has already been discussed.

I have strange problem with yahoo messenger. I am using W7U-32bit version. I could install YMv.10 successfully but whenever I want to start it takes hell lot of time in loading and almost I have to kill the process every time. I am not able to start messenger. I tried to use YMv.9 also but same problem.

My I am using Avira, MSE, SpyDoc. and malawarebytes and ofcourse Win Firewall. But I never start all during startup, only Avira and firewall starts. I have Also checked changing UAC but did not help. Is the problem is because the settings of any one of the above. Thanks

It can be any number of things. can you tell us was this an upgrade, or clean instll?

32bit or 64?

We also can use info on your computer. Please fill in your system specs

like zigzag, im new to this forum as well. and i am experiencing the same problem - yahoo messenger wont start and i have to kill it and run it again before it'll work properly. and also there seems to be problems connecting to the internet. the net browser works fine as i can surf and all but yahoo messenger says its got problem connecting because of the internet connection. I am also playing Magic the Gathering Online and that has problems starting as well. usually it loads pretty quickly but now it takes forever to launch. i dont think its the resources as when trying to launch mtgo and yahoo messenger, i checked the system performance and the processor was only at 25% while trying to launch those programs simultaneously.

i cannot remember exactly when this started - i made a windows critical update and also installed microsoft office 2007. before that things were working fine.

firewall has also alowed both programs to start.

and after trying a few times, eventually the two programs start. (for those who dont know how the MTGO works, you basically start the program renamer.exe, and click launch and a separate window will come up, its that separate window that takes forever to pop up). one interesting thing to note is that after clicking launch, it'll take forever to load MTGO but the moment MTGO loads is also the moment when yahoo messenger will be able to connect. I have confirmed this a few times. pretty curious eh?

im using windows 7 professional 32 bit and it was a clean install.
