VB6 & W7 compatibility ??

I have been loading many of my old programs into my new computer and Windows 7 without any major problem until I loaded VB6.PE. The first disk loaded OK but while writing a new program it needed me to install another disk,MSND. I got a message that the OS wasn't compatible with the disk. Don't know why the first disk didn't have a problem but the second one did. Any suggestions on what the problem might be ??
