Go to the Start Menu-Control Panel-Programs and features- and uninstall it.

Wow great you are using Windows 7 and all that but sorry to ask this and don't mean to be rude or anything but don't you think you are taking a big risk running a beta opperating system on your machine when you are not 100% confident on how to remove programs from your system?

Again not trying to put you down or anything and everyone has to start somewhere but maybe getting to grips with say Vista first would help greatly. Hell if you can use Vista your 80% on the way to using Windows 7.

Your opinion is welcome, and maybe good advice under some circumstances.
But perhaps it does not occur to you that a number of posters may not have used, or ever seen, Vista?
However, I will agree that the basics of uninstalling a program extend back a little before Vista was even on the drawing board.. In this case though, as this is a 7 forum, help ´on that subject is offered when requested.

But back to the OP. Has the advice worked? I did not opt to install messenger, but I have a sneaky feeling you will not find it in the "Programs and features" list? It may be in together with the Live package, which will have to be "changed" rather than uninstalled?

You are correct Dave, it is indeed the windows live installer that he has to run and while I agree with the point that many people have never seen Vista and if this were the final release of Windows 7 and he was a paying customer wanting support then this would not be an issue.

I think what studyoulike was getting at is that this is a Beta and if he can't even find out where to uninstall a program then he is in no position to even be trying out a BETA OS, BETA testing is not a place for a total novice that cant even do the most basic of tasks.

LOL. Well to be fair to the OP it's version 2009, build 14.....whatever.

I used to be never off messenger now I hardly ever use it and when I do it's usually just to see if someone I know is online..!
