Windows 7: Downloading and Win 7 64

So i buy Win 7 64 pro, get a rapidshare account and cant seem to download. I tried firefox, Chrome, Opera, IE8 x64, and Mozzilla Minefield. Everytime i start a download it gets a hundred or so bytes, the it looses all conectivity and times out. Has anyone else had a problem with it doing this, and is there any suggestions that might help?

Can you not download anything, or just from that site?

Some places will download, some wont. rapidshare is one of them. it's starting to look like a lottery. the download will start and go for a few hundred k and then loose the connection slowly. its not our server because i used my account on one of our work computers with xp pro and it downloaded 9.64 gigs just fine. Could it be a 64 bit problem or is it just windows 7? There is all that UAC stuff and i thought i had turned it all off, i was wondering if that could be it as well.
