Mate, I wish I could help you.

There are many people who are frustrated by all sorts of apps, even Windows Explorer, "not responding", and I have seen complaints about it for months, but I have not seen any solutions.

If there are any people who know the cause of this, please tell.
    Tx

Is your Windows 7 Ultimate disc legitimate or is it from a dubious source?

I have similar problems with the 64-bit OEM Home Premium Edition I installed on my new PC I built for myself, and I'm not happy with this either. It just seems slow, programs not responding for no reason, games freeze or the installation window just 'disappears'

    Feels like I just wasted GBP75.00... >:-(

Ignatzatsonic, I am curious, what difference could that possibly make to the stability of the software, its the same software surely?

I am wondering if the issue has to do with graphics card compatibility because when I open Windows Explorer and then grab the scroll bar and scroll down a long list of files, it will ALWAYS get stuck and not respond for 30 seconds at the same spot, about 20 icons away from where the folders begin to appear... so its as though it is starting to "build" the icons for the folders, and freezes when its about to do that.

    Cheers,
    Mark.
