Hello, Ive been using xfire on windows 7 for a while now with no problems. Recently i downloaded windows live messenger to talk to some friends and it crashes after i log in every time. And now only windows live messenger but everything else i try as well; Yahoo messenger and skype also crash after or just before i log in. Anyone else have any similar problems?

Have you considered doing a Repair Install?
Just a thought, not guaranteed it will work.

2 things to try
1-system file check to verify and repair your system files
2-type eventvwr in search. GOTO the windows logs>application tab. Look for errors (have red in the left column) that contain app hang, app crash, or any of the apps name. when you find them (there is alot of data) use the built in snipping tool to make a screen shot and upload it to us here
