Windows 7: Skype download problem

Just bought HP Windows 7x64 and cannot download Skype 4.1. Error message says "SkypeSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application." Has anyone run into this problem and gotten it fixed so you can download Skype? If so, how did you do it? Thanks so much for your quickfix!!

I guess it's a bad download. Try to download from Download Skype 4.1.0.179 - FileHippo.com

I had no problem installing Skype on Windows 7 x64, but I never got to use it because the Skype telephone that I purchased didn't work on x64. As it turned out, it is just as well, because I have since learned that calls made via Skype are insecure. When they tapped my PayPal account for the second year's subscription without my approval, I disputed the case for a refund and cancelled my Skype subscription.

Youre right. There was a scandal a few years back, they were eavesdropping on ppl. BAD for them. I still use skype tho, dont have anything to hide. (dont by it tho, just computer-computer)
