Windows 7 - No More Free Revo Uninstaller???

Maybe someone can help me with a problem that I'm having with Revo Uninstaller v1.88. I downloaded it about twenty minutes ago and attempted to open the VS Revo Group (the developers) folder successfully, and then tried to open the Revo Uninstaller folder. I was denied permission. However "Properties" indicated that it contained no files or folders. I rebooted into Safe Mode and got rid of the folder that was empty. So I reinstalled v1.85. However I have been told that version does not work on 64-bit systems. I have Windows 7 Home Premium which I will eventually upgrade to Ultimate. Does anybody have accurate up-to-date information on this?

Thanks,

Gerry

Hi Gerry,
I've used it on my 64bit home premium, but this is from the revo page Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download
Seems they would rather you buy the pro version to get full 64 bit support.

If this is true, I am totally bummed. Revo Uninstaller is awesome, but not "pay for it" awesome.

This is true and in very small print on their site. I guess that they decided to make some money. The Pro version looks innocent but it would interfere with other programs that I have had for years and won't give up.

Bad luck for everybody,

Gerry

This was just excerpted from the Revo Uninstaller Home Page:

Revo Uninstaller Freeware Revo Uninstaller Professional Current Version: 1.88 Current Version: Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server Windows XP, Windows Server Windows Vista, Windows 7 Windows Vista, Windows 7: 32 bit systems only.

This was from derekimo who wrote the following:

The free version of Revo has always only uninstalled 32 bit apps. It runs fine on a 64 bit o/s.

If you want a free uninstaller that also uninstalls 64 bit apps. , this seems to work well:

Advanced Uninstaller Free - uninstall or remove programs easily using the most powerful uninstaller in the world, for Windows7, Vista and XP.
