My decimal separator key cannot produce a comma

I have my EXCEL all configured to use the comma as decimal separator; and so is my regional configuration.
Now, since I bought this new portable, with the standard separate numerical keyboard, and Windows 7,
the decimal separator key in the numerical keyboard only and always produces a dot, and the figure gets read as text. To have the comma, and the figure read as a number, I have to use the comma key in the main alphanumerical part of the keyboard.
    Thanks for any help-

Try going into Control Panel>Region and Language>Addition Settings. Something could have gotten messed up.

    Hope this helps,

Thank you, Jonathan; I think I can fix it where you say.

    Great, thanks for posting back.

Do you know how to request a thread be marked as solved? Just flag the post in the upper-left corner, and ask the mods to do it.

That way people with similar problems can easily find potential solutions.
