Partition Wizard Home is free and works on 64-bit systems. It is a good program. Paragon Partition Manager 10 Home Edition is good, but it is not free. Easus Partition Master is also free and is a very good program, but does not work on 64-bit OS. If you are running 32-bit Windows then Easus is a very good program. I personally use Partition Wizard. It does everything I need it to do for partition management and it is free and runs on my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 machine. I just noticed that Paragon offers a free partitioning program for Windows. They offer a 32-bit and 64-bit option. I have not tested this and I don't know what the limitations are over their paid version, but I trust Paragon and they make great software. If I were to pay for one I would definitely buy Paragon. I think this free one would be worth a try. I am going to download and test it. If I remember I will post back here about my experience with it.

Update: I downloaded and installed Paragon Partition Manager Free Edition for x64 Windows. My first complaint is upon installation you have to click the "get free serial" button and it takes you to their website and their you have to register with your name and email to get a serial. They will then send the serial to your email and you put it into the installer and all is well. I will run the software and come back as something came up and I need to take care of it.

After using Paragon's free Partitioner, I am impressed. It is very basic, but does exactly what they say it does. It is easy to use with an easy interface. I would highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for a basic partitioning program and does not want to use the built in Windows disk management tool. Paragon's is very simple, straight forward and easy to use, even for the beginner(although I don't recommend beginner's messing with their hard disk's without reading up on it and making sure that you have everything backed up). Once again, it is very basic and doesn't have a lot of options, but for a basic partitioning program Paragon's is very good.

    Thank you for feedback!
I'm looking farward for next update! :)

I tried Partition Wizard home and the free version of paragon pm but none of them has the option "redistribute free space" and i need it badly.

The option is available in Paragon PM personal or professional but i am not shure that it will work if restart is neded on 7 x64. I don't mind buyng it (it worth every cent), but i don't want to spend money on something that doesn't work.

I have a full version on PM 8.5 (gift) ad it came on a recovery CD witch runs good beeing OS independent. To bad it doesn't have "redistribute free space".

How can i get a recovery CD with PM 10? If i buy it i can ask for a recovery cd?

    Thanx!

If memory serves me, in order to redistribute free space with Partition Wizard (possibly paragon as well), you have to select the partition you'd like to give the free space to, then right click on that partition and select the "move/resize" option.

You should then see a slider bar. Drag/expand the slider bar until there is no grey left. That should redistribute the free space.
I have found, that depending on where the unallocated space is, you can only give it to the two nearest partitions.
So say you have Drives C,D,E,F with the unallocated space in-between C & D, and you'd like to put the free space on F. You may run into an issue. If you only have two partitions you should be fine.

I did have one 'issue' the PW, although it was somewhat my fault and Windows. The power settings (which I thought I turned off) changed on my computer, so my hard drive went to sleep during the partitioning faze, and I did lose everything. Fortunately I had it all backed up on an external hd.

Best thing to do no matter what partitioning program you use, backup your most important documents, pictures, videos etc. on to something else. (USB flash drive, DVD, external hd) better to be safe than sorry.

    Paragon has 2 diferent functions:
    -move/resize - which can operate with free space next to the partition we want to resize;
-redistribute free space - which can take free space from any partition/s and move it anywhere on the hdd.

All the operations with Paragon are safe and that's why i don't want to try something else that has a warning bigger than my screen which says to backup my data.

In more tahn 3 years paragon PM never faild me. Im so frustrated right now that i can't use it on 7 x64.

You may want to try Paragon Hard Disk Manager which is an all-in-one suite that includes partitioning, cloning, backup, defrag, system management and system recovery.

Yes, but i want to know if it can continue the job after the restart. All i tried until now failed to start after the restart... and the only thing that i have to do with my partitions is to redistribute some free space from 2 partitions into another. This option is not available in the free or demo versions and i have to buy it to see if it works. I don't want to take that chance!
