Problem with Rocket Dock Icons I keep the forum shortcuts in my Rocket Dock. Since Rocket Dock provides only a generic Icon for webpages, I went thru the trouble of resetting the Icons with the original webpage icons. But every time I reboot, the icons have disappeared and are replaced by those question marks. I have no clue how to prevent it from erasing my settings at reboot - anybody know? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway - 2 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista and Windows7, sometimes Ubuntu and Fedora CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to 2.5GHz Quad Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse terrible devices, who wants them Hard Drives 5x HDD, 2x SSD, 6x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

Maybe save the icons in the default folder that RocketDock searches in before you reboot. I had this issue with with RocketDock as well. I can't remember the folder name, but when you go to the properties of the icon picture, there is a folder in the left hand pane. Just browse to that folder and copy and paste the pictures into there

Hmm, that's not it yet. I put my icons into C: > Program Files > Rocket Dock > Icons. But they still disappear at reboot. The strange thing is that the icons for Word, PowerPoint and other programs or folders stay - the problem is just with the ones for the webpages. Unfortunately the documentation does not give me a clue either. I guess I'll have to reset them after each reboot - which is not a big deal. We are only talking about 4 icons for the webpages. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway - 2 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista and Windows7, sometimes Ubuntu and Fedora CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to 2.5GHz Quad Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse terrible devices, who wants them Hard Drives 5x HDD, 2x SSD, 6x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

I finally figured it out. My icons were .url - that's what confused the Rocket Dock. I changed them to .png and now they stay. Thanks everybody for the help. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway - 2 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista and Windows7, sometimes Ubuntu and Fedora CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to 2.5GHz Quad Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse terrible devices, who wants them Hard Drives 5x HDD, 2x SSD, 6x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

@whs, since you already found the solution and are a RocketDock user, I'd just like to ask if you agree with me that there should be an option to reverse the order of items in the Dock when you toggle the horizontal/vertical orientation? To me the orientation toggle is an unusable feature because the left-most item in horizontal mode, becomes the topmost in vertical mode. So the most-used item that is easiest for me to click when horizontal, becomes a reach way up to the top of the screen, if you see what I mean.
I wish they would have a "flip" button to reverse the order of items. Then my left-most item could be at the bottom when I toggle the orientation.
(Just venting I guess. Probably will never happen.) | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Media Center OS Windows 7 32 bit CPU AMD 5200+ dual core Memory 2 GB Graphics Card NVidia GeForce 6150SE 128 MB Monitor(s) Displays CRT Screen Resolution 1280x1024 Hard Drives 500 GB Sata internal :
