    win7 and msn messenger??

So I had messenger when I upgraded and im using 64bit, ultimate win7.

Here is my issue it was working just fine up till a week or two ago and now when i load messenger it wont even load up or anything it just says:

Windows live Messenger has stopped working

    Then says close program....

I shut down restart nothing work even reinstalling from fresh download......

How can I fix this?????????? I had it working since win7 was released and just a week or two ago it stopped.... What should I do?

Your best bet is to uninstall Windows Live Messenger from the control panel completely, then reinstall the package and let us know what happens...

Something similar happened my girlfriends laptop.
I had planned on removing and reinstalling but i found a soloution that worked for me.
When you try to uninstall it via control panel>Programs it should give an option to Repair it,this worked for me.

Check Problem Reports for more detailed info on the crashes -
START | type View all | select View all problem Reports | locate Live Messenger | 2x-click on a line item will provide additional crash information

Paste a few in your next post

yes ive tried many things uninstall, reinstall, repair, fresh download, nothing seems to work ive searched the net and ive noticed many people have this issue and all the replies say just use a diff msger or an older one but i really would rather it fixed then to go on with it not fixed... ive tried to search for solution but win says there is no solution and it will popup when there is one which i doubt will be soon

Prob Event Name = APPCRASH = Application Crash
    Exception Code: c0000005
    Fault Module Name: WLDCore.dll
    Fault Module Version: 14.0.8089.726
    Fault Module Timestamp: 4a6ce514

0xc0000005 = memory access violation, i.e., "access denied" or the WLDCore clashed with another driver while/ attempting to occupy a memory address

    The timestamp 4a6ce514 = Sun Jul 26 19:22:27 2009 and version 14.0.8089.726 are correct

    Problem Event Name: PCA2
    PCA2 = Program Compatibility
    Fault Module Timestamp: 4a6ce514, which = Sun Jul 26 19:22:27 2009

Please try a few things -
    1. Log into your Live Mail account via www.hotmail.com - make sure you sign out. The Live ID used should be the same one you use for Live Messenger

    2. See if you can log into the Live Mail program installation on your system =-
    START | type Live Mail

    3. Run Messenger at an elevated administrative level -
START | type Live Messenger | RIGHT-click on Live Messenger - try to log in

    4. Log onto a different user account on your system. If you do not have one, activate the Hidden administrator account -
START | type cmd.exe into the start search box | right-click on cmd.exe above under programs - select run as admin. Then type -
    Code:
    net user administrator /active:yes
Logoff your account and the user account named Administrator will be waiting for you at the logon screen.

    5. Boot into SAFEMODE w/ Networking and try Live Messenger there - tap the F8 key during boot-up

    Regards. . .
