AC3 Filter Configuration Internet Explorer Removal?

In my hidden icons section of Win 7 I see AC3 Filter Configuration Internet Explorer and I was wondering how one deletes the whole program. I uninstalled in control panel, but the icon stays in the hidden icons section even after removing by using this method:
The only method that works for me is the following:
1) run CC with the 'tray notifications cache' ticked
2) run task manager
3) go to 'processes' tab, end explorer process
4) restart explorer from 'new task'.
Then the tray icons are reset to default, and the pstrip icon is gone.
I don't have to logoff or restart for this to work. The other methods just don't work for me for some reason. (Thanks to imacken)

I have a feeling it is running in the background somehow in IE...any help is appreciated in advance!
