Hello all,
I am working with two Windows 7 machines, an x86 tablet and an x64 PC. I have Visual Studio 2008 Professional installed on both machines and have been trying to use the Remote Debugger, with the PC as the host and the tablet as the remote machine. Unfortunately, when trying to connect to the remote machine, I keep getting "Access Denied" messages. Using a Windows XP machine as the remote one works fine and I can debug successfully.
Myself and other users on the MSDN forums thought that the issue was due to the firewall. I have Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 installed on all 3 machines and the Windows firewall disabled. This had no effect - I could connect to the XP machine but was denied access to the Windows 7 tablet. Disabling Kaspersky as well as the Windows firewall on both Windows 7 machines also had no effect. This makes me think that the problem might be due to some permissions on Windows 7 preventing me from running the program. I have tried running the Debugger as Administrator on both machines but again, no dice.
I have been trying to get help from the MSDN forums at
this post, but we have yet to come to a solution. I was wondering if anyone here could perhaps lend their insight to the problem?
Thanks
