DeepFreeze + Windows 7

I am running Windows 7, build 7600. I ALWAYS used DeepFreeze with Vista and XP, so I came to love the freedom from "stuff" that today's internet dumps on you... I took a Ghost image of C: drive, once I had 7 ticking over like a Swiss watch... then I experimented with DeepFreeze the Standard edition... I am now running DeepFreeze quite happily for many weeks in 7, all I found I needed was to run DeepFreeze set up in 'Compatibility mode for... Vista service pack 2' and it installed, and runs without a hitch.
Of course..... you try this at your own risk !!!! but with a Ghost image of your system (from DOS) before you try, you really only have all to gain. I have a small 128Mb USB flash drive, which you can buy for peanuts these days, and formatted it with the HP Key format utility, which added the simple DOS system files for booting, and added Norton Ghost 11 to it, now it can boot the notebook straight into DOS "C>", and I type "ghost" and do the business. I even tested the image by restoring it from DOS, and it was PERFECTION I am here if you need any help with the above.... hope this helps DeepFreeze lovers....

Windows 7 7600 OEM

AN UPDATE !!!! I installed x64, and once all was running nicely, I installed DEEPFREEZE standard edition, in compatibility mode '2000', and YES it installed and ran as sweet as a nut... dumped windows defender and firewall, turned off or removed anything that looked like it was protecting me from that 'vicious world out there..' and now I feel really comfortable under the protection of DeepFreeze

I think returnil is better than deep freeze.
Right now they have a 2010 beta where you can test it out for a month.

Window 7

can i ask whether there is any sofware to freeze the hard drive which does not require the PC to restart, meaning that we can temporarily stop the function to modify something we want, and allow it to function when we finish? It is quite inconvienient when we have to restart the computer
