Windows 7: DVDFab max cpu usage??

DVDFab max cpu usage??

I usually use DVDFab to backup my DVD's, but I had to backup a bluray disc first time no problems, but since the cost of a blank bluray disc is still pricey, I'd figure convert my bluray movie to DVD-R DL (8.5GB).
Issue is it normal for my CPU to be near 100%?
I guess the more the compression, the higher the CPU usage?

In my case 40GB to 8.5GB, could have been worse DVD (4.7GB)
Any comments if you have experienced the same?

Of course it is. Any type of encoding always uses 100% CPU (well, video encoding at least)

I thought so.
I now remember when performing a simple back-up DVD with no compression, cpu usage was much lower....thanx for your response Sopolias Falst
