How to install a DLL file/photoshop portable dll errors

I'm trying to get a portable version of photoshop to work on my computer. I'm running windows 7 64 bit. When I try to open the program it tells me i'm missing msvcp80.dll. So I tried downloading the dll file, placing it in windows\system 32, and tried registering it using regsvr32 and it failed telling me that the dll file might not be compatible with 64 bit windows. Next, I tried taking the dll file out of Windows\\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.VC80.CRT_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.42_x-ww_0de06acd and placing it into windows\system32 and running the dll register again, and I got the same error. Now since this is a portable version of photoshop it contains no installer and therefore I cannot use it to restore msvcp80.dll again. What should I do?

edit: I also want to mention that I have had this version of the program working on 2 other computers. And yes, I realize that this may not be an "official" version of photoshop, but it looks and works just like it.

Am I just making a simple mistake here or something? Why would the program tell me that I'm missing a dll file when I just placed it into my system 32 folder...?

try putting it in windows\system not windows\system 32 and see how you go

you don't need to register anything, I think

carnage is right, system32 is generally the place to put dlls. If it doesnt find it there then put it in the programs folder.

    Matt Hi

First you need to make sure you have the correct DLL. 32 and 64 are different. Then I has to be in the right place. Is the ap 32 bit or 64?

There is no Photoshop Portable version published or supported by Adobe. What you have is an illegal cracked version of Photoshop which could potentially be having a virus or other malware.
