Also I formatted to NTFS to keep it a little more cross platform friendly (Ubuntu & Mac) Thats what all of my HDD's are formatted to.

Is there any benefit to a flash drive to keeping it a Fat32?

After a format there is still a system folder with apps & files in it?

    How is that possible?

System>apps>0DE4F643-C398-46ec-9339-2362F2311932 (there are 4 files like this)>Data & Exec - but oddly enough those were all empty, so I just deleted the main System file.

But what about the U3 system still showing up on a CD Drive K: after a format & a restart? (cruzer is still plugged in, so it must be associating it some how?)

Man this U3 is hard to get rid of. Some how it reloaded itself?

I unplugged the drive & it disappeared off the cdrom drive also, but when I plugged it back in the U3 password prompt opens up & my old password still allows me access into the orignal JScience M: drive but with no data or apps?

It should have been wiped clean during the format?

And yet its still now only showing 14.8g free?

And why is it showing an unallocated space of 380mb on the other picture I uploaded on the 1st page?

I cant get rid of this U3 even after a full format (I unclicked "quick format" so I assumed it was giving it a full one then)

There is a u3 launchpad uninstaller I believe. Check their website.

As for keeping Fat32...it depends upon what devices you might connect to. I know for example that my stereo in my car takes USB connections and can xfer MP3's over to the hard drive...but I think it has to be FAT or FAT32 to read it.

Download U3 Launchpad Removal Tool 1.0.3.10 - Enables you to uninstall your U3's Launchpad, turning it into a traditional flashdrive - Softpedia

I guess I'll just try that software?

And yeah no need for usb hook up in car, so I guess I'll leave it NTFS to keep it cross platform.
