U3 isnt for me - how can I encrypt for macs & pcs?

Ok from what I can tell, the U3 program that comes on my Sandisk Cruzer flash drive is not going to work for what I want.

I think its nice how you can have certain programs open.

But I need access to this drive not only on pcs, but also Macs at school.

And the U3 isnt compatible with macs.

I'd really like the flash drive set up just like a normal HDD where I can easily drag & drop files off & on it & easily access it via My Computer etc.

But I also want it encrypted on both pcs & macs.

So is there any password encryption that I can put on here instead of U3 that will work on both platforms?

    Try TrueCrypt. Crossplatform and free.

    Sounds perfect.

I assume I will have to format my flash drive? (it currently contains the U3 software & about 8g worth of my media data)

I've also had an issue with U3 software in not being able to access my files.

Will this TrueCrypt just make the flash drive basically an easy to use drag & drop HDD?

The drive itself after formatting and setting up properly will be a drag and drop functional drive...I'd suggest a Win and Mac folder to keep things tidy...
All TrueCrypt will do is give you encryption abilities...not add any functionality to the drive itself.

The 1st thing i do when i get a U3 drive is format it and dump U3...

Only because if he was having issues with drag and drop it may be an Explorer issue...

    However...carry on...
