Windows Installer Issues

Hi everyone,

Not sure if this post is appropriate in the Software section but my problems persisted after installing a trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security 2010. I decided I did not want to continue with the product and uninstalled it via control panel, uninstall programs. After rebooting the system from the uninstall windows installer pops up while other programs are loading and it starts to install Kaspersky again. I have tried using the Kaspersky removal tool, deleting anything "Kaspersky" in the registry and nothing will stop this problem. At the same time I am now having crash problems with Outlook 2010 Beta. It will not download my emails and if I try to do anything within the program it goes into the "not repsonding" state. Not sure what to do at this point, I have been running a clean install of Win 7 for about 2 months now and love it but something has gone horribly wrong that I can't seem to fix. Anyone have and ideas on what to do here? Thanks in advance for any advice or help!

Bill

Hi Bill,

Not sure if you've found a solution yet, but I thought I'd chime in since nobody has responded. Usually it's a bad sign when editing the registry makes your problem worse, so at this point I'd recommend backing up everything and performing another clean install. Let me know how it goes if you choose to do so.

Cheers,
