No! Win7 ended my Photoshop CS4 trial 20 days early?

I just installed Windows 7 , open CS4 , and it says trial ended, by 20 days. I can't back up to Vista because I'm a dumb person who did'nt do a backup

I don't know if anyone can help . I'm upset with all these Windows 7 troubles.

Welcome to SF!

Sorry to hear that. Maybe you can download a new copy of the trial?

If you did not back up, I think you will have a hard time restoring.

You checked to make sure the Windows date and time are correct? If they aren't the next step is to make sure they are correct in the bios.

I tried twice to reinstall Cs4, twice. Sadly did not work.

Windows date and time seem fine.

I'm not sure how true it is, but perhaps the bottom answer might be why...

Those registry entires can be very tricky to identify, and I have had no luck trying to extend trials that way. As for changing your IP address, you would have to get into the router to do that.

Just to be clear: I guess that you had a demo version of Photoshop CS4 installed on a system under Vista. You upgraded-in-place to Windows 7. The CS4 demo has timed out early, presumably due to the OS change.

I imagine that you could do a clean re-install of Windows 7, and that Photoshop would install on that again, and restore the demo evaluation period. As far as I know, Photoshop doesn't phone home in demo mode. Clean installing the OS is sufficiently tedious that I doubt many people resort to it to run Photoshop for free indefinitely.

Your other alternatives are to buy Photoshop, or steal it. I don't know about now, but a year ago, it was easy to steal. I won't participate in any discussion of how to steal it.

(My copy is CS4 Standard, purchased and downloaded directly from Adobe. This was after I tried to save a few dollars on a gray market copy, which turned out to be counterfeit. Fortunately, the dealer returned my funds, after I filed with PayPal. I'm about 80% sure that they knew what they sold me, though they claimed otherwise.)

I'm having a little trouble not remarking on "I'm upset with all these Windows 7 troubles.". The only Windows 7 trouble that I see here is that Microsoft is selling upgrades to people who probably shouldn't be installing them without help.
