.NET Framework Issues!
Okay, I have a slight problem with .NET Frameworks. When I open “%systemroot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework” in Windows Explorer (as per How to determine which versions of the .NET Framework are installed and whether service packs have been applied) it tells me that I have the following .NET Frameworks:
v1.0.3705
v1.1.4322
v2.0.50727
v3.0
v3.5
Is it really necessary for my system to have ALL five of those .NET Frameworks?
I wouldn’t care if they all stayed there, IF they all were not prohibiting me from playing Sims 3, specifically effecting the Game Launcher in that I cannot install game content.
So, if removing all but v3.5 is possible, and removing the previous .NET Frameworks WILL NOT cause system problems or else prohibit me from using other programs at all, then I would really like to know how exactly it is that I can remove the previous four versions.
I have already looked at “Turn Windows Features On or Off” and it only lists .NET Framework 3.5 (which is the precise version I need for Sims 3) and mentions nothing about the previous four .NET Frameworks.
So I would really appreciate some help/intel on this, with detailed instructions on how to go about removing these previous four .NET Frameworks and if doing so can cause potential problems, and if that is the case, how I can put them all back on there etc.
Thank you so much for your help in advance!
