How do I assign drive letter in Partition Wizard

I want to do file check but its telling me to give each partition a drive letter

When I either right click partition or click partition at top "change letter" is not higlighted.

If I use Label it says it will wipe out anything on that partition which I obviously dont want

    can anyone help please?

Hello, you can go to computer management and do it from there.

Click start, type computer management form there click disk management then right click drive you want to change and choose your options.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi there
If you have no OS then until you format the Drive with NTFS or FAT32 into Windows you can't assign it a letter.

After formatting you can LABEL the partition but when you install the OS it's best to let the OS assign "C" to the install partition.

Once you've booted up you can re-assign letters to the other partitions.

Just create a (preferably) NTFS partition and install your OS.

    Cheers

    1) Boot DVD. (Vista or Win 7)

    2) Press Shift+F10 (for command prompt)

    Type in command line
    DISKPART
    LIST DISK
SELECT DISK 0 (win 7 HD)
    CLEAN ALL
    CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
    SELECT PARTITION 1
    ACTIVE
    FORMAT=NTFS
    ASSIGN
    EXIT
    EXIT
