Unable to uninstall Paint Shop Pro

Dell Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E7500 Computer
    Inspirion 545s 00
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    6GB Memory
    750GB Hard Drive

I use Paint Shop Pro (several versions) and all the older versions installed on my pc fine as well as the latest version PSPX2.

I installed a plugin for one of my programs and would like to now uninstall it, but am unable to. I get a message that says:

    Unsupported 16-bit application

The program or feature (filename.exe) cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit versions of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available.

The another screen comes that says ERROR: 216--

I have tried uninstalling using CCleaner as well as going through the control panel. I've also tried to run in the compatibility mode for XP, but there is no option for that. I did find a log with some registry information on it. If I went into the registry and was able to find the same text as shown in the log and deleted it, would that uninstall it?

I'd like to get off pc if possible.

    Thanks

I have seen this problem before. The installer was 32bit and the uninstaller is 16bit. It was not a problem in all the 32bit versions of Windows because they could run 16bit applications. However Windows 7 64bit cannot run 16bit applications. Let us know if Revo Uninstaller Pro 2.0.5 works.

Many here consider it the best. Keep it installed for future use.

    Is this right?

I notice the utility has its own place now in the Control Panel -- it's a link like the others that are shown there. Is this how it should be?

I do not have a control panel icon for Revo, but it is in my list of programs in the start menu.

Do you have a start menu entry?

If you poke the control panel icon, does it just start the program like the start menu entry, or does it do something else?

Where it shows up on the Control Panel, it's a link like the remainder of the list (probably because of the view I have it on). When I click on it, yes, it just opens the program.

It does also appear in the Start menu, but there is has the other options as well -- uninstall, etc.

I guess it's fine; just surprised me to see it show up in the control panel. I see my Nero program is also there, so maybe certain program just show up there. That's a little different for me.

    Hello Lodrslug, Welcome to SF,

You could try to Login under Build-in admin account then try to remove from Add or remove programs if that fails then use Windows Installer Cleanup and remove it from there the just rename the folder from Program Files. Run CCleaner once you do that.

    Good Luck,
