    Thanks - nice one Airbot.

Btw, is there any significant down-side to installing XP Mode (other than about half a GB of disk space?)

    John
No, XP Mode is just another application, as far as Windows 7 knows.

There shouldn't be really. After you have it all set up, depending on how you set it up, I almost guarantee it will take up more space than just half a GB though.

There are alternatives to Windows Virtual PC as well if you have other versions of Windows that you own with a key you could use, or open source Linux versions. Sun's VirtualBox, VMWare Player, etc. As was mentioned, an activated XP Mode/Virtual PC is free with Professional and above.

Might want to check out here, and the Virtualization sub forum link at top.

    Hello shiphen.

There is a Version 6.5 that has worked ok for me.

FastStone Screen Capture - The Best Screen Capture Software
That's not free. Last free version of FS capture is 5.3

Sorry 'bout that, maybe I should pay more attention.

    I am using 5.3 on 7 x64. Works beautifully.

It's free, and there is no need to use compatibility mode.

Hmm, I've had freezing issues with it without running in compat mode.

Strange - I never had an issue at all.

    FSCapture version 5.3

I have the portable version of this program on my computer and I captured your post with the program and then highlighted it.
I noticed that after you highlighted it you did not have any options.
Then I clicked on the "ok" button in the lower right hand corner, after that I had all of the options showing on my screen.
This is running in Windows 7, Ultimate edition x64.

    Hi
Have any of you guys found a (free) version of FSCapture that works with Windows 7 (64bit) ?

    Background
We use the old version (v5.3) which I think was the last free version - on WinXP, and we LOVE it, because we find it a real time saver for marking up change requests to screenshots...

However when running under Win7 64bit, the drawing tool has a bug and wont allow you to save your markups...

    Cheers

Which version of Windows 7 do you have, and have you tried running FSCapture in either Windows XP Compatibility, or if you have Windows 7 Pro or better, Windows XP Mode?
I just tried your suggestion - Have windows 7 pro - ran in comp mode xp - draw function freezes.

Update: saw that I had to download a file to make it run in windows 7 pro - now works as it should.

It is a virtual machine update.
    Download Windows XP Mode

After I ran it, I went to fs capture and ran in XP mode.

BTW - your link doesn't seem to work.
