Windows 7: Application Hangs

Hi,
My application hangs after doing the operations on MFC window repeatedly. Later, i found that it is because of usage of sendMessage in the application.
I want to replace the sendMessage.
Which is recommendable for message passing(Postmessage/ sendmessageout/ sendnotifymessage..). with out affecting performance?(like Latency)

Sorry for the delayed response.
I have isolated the issue at statement level.
There is a hang found in setwindowpos call to place the child window while maximizing the MDI Frame.
I am trying out some alternatives. If anyone come across this kind of issue, Guide me to resolve to this
issue.
FYI, The same call is working fine in Windows XP.

The application is working fine in Windows Classic Theme. Hang is not observed.
What is the issue with Windows 7 theme? How to overcome that?. It seems that SetWindowPos call causes the hang in windows 7 theme. Any fixes are available?..

Did you ever find a solution? I am having hanging processes, but it's not just when on the web.

Originally Windows 7 was fine but now Yuck.
