which programs are unnecessary?

Hello guys,

First of all i have to tell you sorry for selecting wrong forum. I did not know where i can post this thread.

Please see my programs list screenshot in attached files section.

Now you will see a list of programs that they had installed on windows 7 (64-bit). I want to know which programs are unnecessary? and which one is not compatible with windows 7 x64? and which programs should be in the list?
Please tell me know.

Sorry for my bad english,
Alireza

Snagit is extra. Unless you just like it better than the Snipping tool that comes with Windows 7.

If you want to eliminate overhead from your PC, you should be looking at a different list. Most of this stuff doesn't take cycles unless you're running them. But stuff in the Startup folder consumes cycles everytime you boot your machine and may wake up to do "work" at other times as well.

Start a program called "MSConfig" and look at the Startup tab. Post a list of these programs here for us to take a look at. They are very easy to turn off.

Cheers!

It rather depends on what you will be using the PC for! If you will never do sophisticated editing of still photos then Adobe photoshop CS4 could go. On the other hand if it came preloaded then keep it, you've paid for it and you may need it in the future.

I agree with ISVDevelopers, it is not what is installed so much as what is running. Along with msconfig, check your services.msc to see if it needs tweaking:

Just from that, i can tell you which ones to turn off..

Java and the 3 Adobe ones, Babylon, from a quick google search, is a language translator, so leave Babylon.

Not sure about PC Tools Firewall, also probably not necessary if your running Kaspersky too.
