Hello guys,
I have three questions about Ccleaner v2.
1. When should i run it?
2. does this program attack my windows?
3. Is this program necessary to be on my windows for ever?

CCleaner is good to use before defragmenting your HDD. There's no security risk in using it or having it on your system.

I have been running it for years and has never done any damage to any of my OS. Picks up all the left over junk and old reg keys leftover in your comp. A real "must have" app. in my opinion.:)

1. you run it whenever you think you have a lot of temporary files to delete.
2. it is completely safe - my experience after years of using it
3. you should keep it forever because you will have temporary files forever.
4. you can set it to clean the cookies too. just be aware that the cookies contain some of your login info to websites and you may have to login again after cleaning the cookies. You can do it either way since cookies do not take a lot of space on your disk (about 1KB per cookie).

As others have already said, CCleaner is a great little app. with no risks.
Its On-Demand, meaning it will only work when you open it and tell it to run. The rest of the time, it uses no resources and does nothing.
Take a minute, and go to the Options/Cookies section of CCleaner & you can tell it what cookies you want it to leave alone.
Like the seven forums cookie, or whatever ones that you do want left for log in purposes etc.
It will skip those you want, and delete everything else -- Which is all useless junk wasting space TBH.

It's amazing how much "crap" it actually finds, I tried it on my father's ageing laptop and it picked up 6GB of junk and fixed a load of reg errors. I would never uninstall it as it is a very small app but for the size of it does it's job very well.

Agree with everybody here, but here is a suggestion: Don't use the registry cleaner that is bundled with it.
I realize that many people never had problems with ccleaner's registry cleaner, but my personal experience with the registry cleaner softwares have been horrible. The registry no longer makes your computer so slow as before. When windows NT was released, many of the problems with the old registry is no longer present. It is okay to have a spare key around here and there. What is not okay is to remove a registry key that actually does something. I speak from experience, in that many registry cleaners I have used, including ccleaner, has caused at least one problem. It stems from NTI backup not starting, disk cleanup destroying my user profile because there was a registry key keeping it from removing the system profile, game doesn't save settings, etc. They are really a headache, and I have experienced no performance improvement.
A majority of registry cleaners are scareware. I respect ccleaner for their product but my general tip is to examine what keys are being removed before you remove them. (note: that even in a custom install of windows 7, any registry cleaner will still pick up a few spare keys. It is absurd that perhaps, microsoft shipped the operating system with useless registry keys)

I actually have it to run on start up in the background and auto close when finished. Love it. I use it to clean registry occasionally, esp when i just installed or uninstalled a bunch of stuff. Ccleaner in conjunction with Perfect Disk allows my computer to stay squeaky clean and running fresh.
I vote: keep it and use it!
