Adobe reader 7.0 (7.0.9). I try with older version, but without result.

I prefer Foxit over Adobe so you might want to give that a go: Foxit Software - Foxit Reader 3.0 for Windows

I prefer to *avoid* Foxit as they bundle with Ask.com toolbar.

Installers Hall of Shame (Unwanted add-on) - Calendar Of Updates

As for it recognizing the OS as NT, do a *manual* DL for Adobe Reader for Windows Vista - use Adobe - Adobe Reader download - All versions

Right, but the fact that the developer is opting for monetary gains from a company of ill repute makes me stay away from said developer's products.

I only make one exception to this rule - Messenger Plus! for WLM.
