A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.

This problem exists with only a handful of programs, the main one being Serif applications and in my case Serif Webplus X4 which is a cerified Windows 7 compatible program. For example; On successful installation I try to launch the program and the following box appears saying: Serif WebPlus X4 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program.

My system was upgraded from Vista Ultimate 32 bit to Windows 7 Ultimate.

    System spec is as follows:

    Processor: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00GHz 2.99GHz
Installed memort (RAM): 4.00GB (3.50 GB usable)

    Hope someone can help.

    Thanks

what does it say in event viewer? Type eventvwr in search. go to the windows log>application tab. Look for critical errors (they have red in the left column) . Look for errors that have app hang, or app crash, etc in them.

When you find them let us know the event ID and source codes.

Let us know if you need help

Hi! warreng, and resqtech, welcome to 7F :)

Exception code: 0xc0000005 points to the program has attempted to access memory that it shouldn't.

Serif Webplus X4 is corrupt - in which case you need to reinstall it. Is there any other software that is giving similar error? If not then it could be this.

Faulty memory - you need to replace RAM in the computer
Create a memtest CD and run memtest for at least an hour (more if possible). Memory Diagnostics Tool or run Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

Windows became corrupt - you need to repair Windows 7.

warreng it sounds like you have bad memory.

resqtech I'd try re-installing your program. Make sure all other programs are shutdown/closed.
Might even want to download a fresh copy of what ever you were trying to install.
