Windows 7: Cisco IP Communicator

Cisco IP Communicator

My wife uses CIPC for her at home office. We recently replaced the ageing computer with a new one with Windows 7 32-bit. We used the 32 bit version due to known imcompatabilities with CIPC.

When CIPC was first installed it would hang and freeze at startup almost 50% of the time. Last night I set the compatability settings for Vista, and now it works better but still will crash/freeze 1-2 times a day. CIPC worked well on her laptop (Vista).

Has anyone had similar problems or solutions?

It is version 2.x. There is a newer version (7.x) and suppossedly a newer version (Windows 7 Compat) on the way. This is the only version her firm has bought the license to. This is a very popular version of CIPC and I know Cisco hasn't supported Win 7 or x64 very well. I am still hoping that someone has had much better success with this than I have had.

Version 7.2 is current. No offense, but version 2 is ancient.
