Fancy Schmancy 7 Visuals & Functionality I read somewhere recently that MS has decided to remove the window previews from the taskbar by instead just having a list pop-up of currently open windows.
Aside from whether that is true, I am wondering what that means for the built-in neat factors.
Example, the window previews were fairly standard for most apps. However, in IE, the tabs were shown individually which was a nice feature. Also, hovering over Windows Media Player, it allowed you to skip, pause, play, and stop your current track.
What will happen to those neat preview features AND if they leave them, will they extend to other browsers and media players such as iTunes? | My System Specs |

Well if I understand correctly, MS wants to get rid of the thumbnail that shows what is in the current window, in favor of just a label with text and a little "x" close box to close it.
I really hope they don't go through with it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Inspiron 1520 (Laptop)/ Home (Desktop) OS Windows 7 x64 / Same CPU Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 / Intel Core i7 930 Motherboard Intel 945 / Asus P6X58D-E Memory 4GB / 6GB Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS / ASUS 1GB Sound Card Whatever Dell gave me :-( / Onboard Monitor(s) Displays 15.4" LCD / Crappy CRT Mouse Microsoft Presenter (Bluetooth) PSU N/A / OCZ Fatal1ty 550W Modular Case N/A / Antec 900 Cooling Air Hard Drives Seagate 500GB SATA; 7200 RPM / Seagate 1TB SATA; 7200 RPM |

The problem is app that don't play correctly in Windows -- i.e. Crapple and Lunix apps. If you don't draw your UI using supported APIs then you don't get a preview unless you add code to your app to provide it. Fat chance that Crapple and Lunix bufoons will do that! | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number baarod/MCP OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit CPU Core2 Quad Q6600 @ 3.6GHz 9x400FSB Motherboard Gigabyte G33M-S2H Memory 4GB DDR2 1066 Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 4670 Sound Card Integrated Azalia Monitor(s) Displays Acer AL1711 Screen Resolution 1280x1024 Keyboard Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 4000 Mouse Microsoft Wireless Lasr Mouse 5000 PSU 240W TFX Case InWin BT566 Cooling Intel Retail Stock Hard Drives OCZ Vertex SATAII w/ 1.5FW 30,528MB system and apps

The way I understood this potential change in functionality it is meant to be in addition to the current preview system.
it would be, I believe, an option for normal use and would only come into play when a large number of windows were open - for example lots of word documents or browser windows which would exceed the available screen space.
Edit
I have just opened a few browser windows and the preview on my screen actually changed to a list on the 10th window. obviously this is a live function in build 7077 and it as I thought is additional functionality rather than replacement
