    Nero 8

I had at first Nero 8's older version which ran fine on win 7. Then I heard of Nero-8.3.13.0a_all_update and downloaded it. to my immense surprise after installing it 1.5 GB or so disappeared from my C drive!! I investigated and found that NERO had stored a temp file there with lots of RAR files and installer and whatnot...I deleted those. Nero starts ok , but what was that with the 1.5 GB?? And I also see that Nero Filter Check has automatically disappeared from start-up.

I have no idea, but rars + installer - filter check sounds kind of like that those were plugins that could be chosen if desired.

I think you should have uninstalled the old version and then install the updated package. Although Im not sure it really matters.

As far as all the TEMP files, as you mentioned, they are in the TEMP folder and can be quite large.

As far as I am aware, the advantage to leaving them there is that, as long as they are there you can open the control center and make changes. Add or remove things without issue.

If you delete the TEMP folders, & attempt to add a app or or make changes to the Nero Install, you will be prompted to re-run the installer.

I always delete the TEMP file after install myself. Re-running the installer to modify is no big deal IMO. You're not going to modify the instal that much anyway :)

Nero 9 doesn't have a filter check either, so this may have been a change for Win7 compatability, but thats just guessing.

I don't make any changes to the installer anyway, so I hope it won't be prob. I'll rerun the installer - it's better than eating up 1.5Gb of my HDD space :) ! Yes, it maybe that Nero removed the filter chck for compatibility reasons. Thanks guys.
