Why didn't you just post here on these forums for help? We are much better then any technical support team you could ever ask for

Anyways, your .msi file installation is quite common. I did a little googleing and found that it happens a crapload. I would suggest that you follow the following as the problem was with a different .msi file but had the same error code. Also, I am not sure if they mention this, but save the file to your desktop with the original (file download name) it was given. Here we go:

I suggest that you install the Windows Installer Clean up utility from Clean boot and check, you can start Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. Steps to perform clean boot and check if you have the issue.
    1. Click Start, type msconfig in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
User Account Control permission: If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
    2. On the General tab, click Selective Startup.
    3. Under Selective Startup, click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.
    4. Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All.
    5. Click OK.
    6. When you are prompted, click Restart.
    7. After the computer starts, check whether the problem is resolved.
Reset the computer to start as usual
After you have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
On the General tab, click the Normal Startup option, and then click OK.
When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.
If the issue is resolved check which third party is causing the problem, referring the link given below: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
This message usually means a previous installation of software is getting in the way of the new installation. The fix is to download a free program from Microsoft that will totally and completely remove the old software. Then the new version can load unimpeded.
    1. Download: Windows Installer Cleanup Utility : http://www.microsoft.com/downloadS/details.aspx?familyid=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en
    2. Choose Save file option in the popup dialogue box
    3. A File by name Msicuu.exe will be downloaded on your system
    4. Run the Msicuu.exe application. This will install the program.
    5. Run the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility file you just loaded (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up or C:\Program Files\Windows Installer Clean Up double click msicuu.exe
    6. You will see window listing various applications.

    7. Select the offending program, then click Remove. You'll see the warning box, select OK. The utility will remove all the parts of the program from your computer.

    8. Restart your computer, and then try loading the new version of the software.

I know how crappy it is to get these type of issues. Try this, and let me know how it is. Ill make sure i respond within a few minutes of your response!

    Let us know,
    Ben

P.S.- Post your other issue on here, as i am sure we can solve it quicker on here then Norton can!

    Nortons all repaired

I have nortons 2010 and they give me FREE support. They uninstalled everything and reinstalled it.

    Thank you

The only problem I have is the Windows Installer gives me an error every time. I do not know how to fix it.

When did this happen? Can you do a system restore? That would probably solve everything.

    Let us know,

    Brand new install

Brand new install. I do not have a good restore set of DVD's yet. So not but that would have been a good idea I know.

You dont need CD's to do the restore. Use this tutorial (System Restore) and you should be all set with a restore. You may have to click on "show restores older tehn 5 days" at the bottom of the screen when you do this. Just choose a date before this started to happen.
