    windows 98 app


    Hi, I have a question,

    if I have to install a program that used to be run on windows 98, it's an old program, will it work in windows 7

    It might, it might not.
    The easiest way to find out is to install it and run it in compatibility mode.

    If it is 16 bit and you are running 7 64 bit it will not run.

    you can try it in Compatibility Mode, but without knowing what program it is I can't tell you for sure

    If there are no alternative programs then why not set up win98 in virtualbox and install the program that way?

    Virtual Box is a free program that allows you to run other operating systems inside your current one.
    If you have an old copy of 98 lying around you could try installing it within Virtual Box and then run your app on your Virtual copy of Windows 98 (as long as it's not too relient on the GPU)

    VirtualBox is a free virtualization platform program, that allows you to install and run so called virtual machines on your Windows desktop. A virtual machine opens in a window, and works exactly as if it was a real computer.
