Looking for App to allow for printing poster....

Hi

I am looking for an program or method to be able to print out documents/maps/etc. that are larger than your standard size of 8.5 X 11 (e.g. poster size)....even if I need to print off 'sections' or 'sectors' of the big image with 8.5 x 11 sheets and then cut and tape them all together to have the full size, would be okay.

I currently have Photoshop CS4, The Gimp, and a few other programs like those, but I could not find a way to 'split up' the large map into 8.5 x 11 printable areas.

Does anyone know of a plug-in for Photoshop or a separate program that will enable this to be done? It sounds so simple to do this way and maybe I am just not looking in the right place.

I have an HP Color LaserJet 2605dn networked printer that I would like to use.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Tnx

Check you printer's print properties (say that 5 times fast!)

In my Lexmark printer, I have the option to specify if I want to print out different sizes and formats. I don't have the option to print poster, but as you can see, I have the option to print a banner. Yours might allow you to one or the other or both.

Check your printer properties.

Ah okay....I thought I might have been overlooking something from within there. I will check that out now.

Tnx
