It needs to be run as Admin to acquire specific permissions. If you want it to always run as admin, right click on its shortcut, click Properties -> Compatibility -> Always run as admin. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit CPU AMD Phenom II X4 3.0GHz Motherboard ASUS M4A785-M Memory 4GB A-Data DDR2 Graphics Card PNY GeForce 460 GTX 1GB OC - Enthusiast Edition Sound Card VIA High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell 19" Screen Resolution 1280x1024 Keyboard Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 2000 Mouse Microsoft Wireless Mouse 2000 Case ASUS Cooling Corsair Builder Series CX V2 500-Watt Hard Drives 250GB Western Digital WD2500JB (IDE) - Main

Look in System Security, my post on "UAC Notifications".
Gave me highest privlidges and dumped the UAC pop-up. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number DIY #3, #2 OS W7 Ulti/64, XP Pro/32 CPU INTEL i7 920 DO, Core2 Duo 6400 Motherboard GIGABYTE EX58 UD3R-SLI, EP45-UD3R Memory KINGSTON DDR3 1333MHz, CORSAIR DDR2 800MHz Graphics Card EVGA GTX 260 x2, 8800 GTX Sound Card REALTEK HD onboard, ditto Monitor(s) Displays SONY 40" BRAVIA LCD Screen Resolution 1360 X 768 Keyboard MS Mouse MS PSU COOLERMASTER 900W, ENERMAX 850W Case COOLERMASTER HAF 932 x2 Cooling stock Hard Drives OCZ VERTEX/RAID0 -3, Vertex 30GB Internet Speed ADSL 3MB/768KBs Other Info amateur enthusiast |

Yes, but if you do that, you're loosening up security and allowing anything to run. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit CPU AMD Phenom II X4 3.0GHz Motherboard ASUS M4A785-M Memory 4GB A-Data DDR2 Graphics Card PNY GeForce 460 GTX 1GB OC - Enthusiast Edition Sound Card VIA High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell 19" Screen Resolution 1280x1024 Keyboard Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 2000 Mouse Microsoft Wireless Mouse 2000 Case ASUS Cooling Corsair Builder Series CX V2 500-Watt Hard Drives 250GB Western Digital WD2500JB (IDE) - Main

I'm not incorrect. UAC warns you when something wants to run, whether it is you launching it or it launching itself. It also warns you when someone or something attempts to change settings. How am I incorrect? Wouldn't you want to be warned when something makes changes to your computer? | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit CPU AMD Phenom II X4 3.0GHz Motherboard ASUS M4A785-M Memory 4GB A-Data DDR2 Graphics Card PNY GeForce 460 GTX 1GB OC - Enthusiast Edition Sound Card VIA High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell 19" Screen Resolution 1280x1024 Keyboard Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 2000 Mouse Microsoft Wireless Mouse 2000 Case ASUS Cooling Corsair Builder Series CX V2 500-Watt Hard Drives 250GB Western Digital WD2500JB (IDE) - Main

I did not turn off the prompts, I gave higher privlidges to the software I use. Protected mode is still on! The UAC popups are the security though. I'm not doubting what you know, but is removing a slight inconvenience really worth opening up a hole in your security?
