| | Software that forces basic colour scheme I thought i'd start compiling a list of software that forces Windows 7 (and indeed Vista) to automatically revert to the Standard/Basic colour scheme, thus disabling the Aero effects within the Windows GUI. This is not a fault with Windows, the software must be calling for resources/environment variables that are either not available or different in Vista/Seven. WinAVI Video Converter M2VPlayer PowerDVD Blu ray edition - thanks to swarfega for this MediaCoder but only for preview - thanks to LePoilu for this Yes, the list is small but it will grow as I find more. | Windows 7 Enterprise x64 SP1 | Windows 8 build 7989 | I had another discussion going in another thread about how PowerDVD can sometimes force Basic if it reverts to VR9(I think that is what it is called) from EVR, or else reverts to a plain old overlay.... Usually only happens on systems with not enough graphic power, but was more notorious for happening on Vista often enough. |

| | Ive run PowereDVD Blu Ray edition which does switch to basic mode. Id think my graphics card would be powerful enough to cope with both. |
