Windows Live Messenger Help

Sorry to be a bit off topic, but I had to seize the opportunity. Do you know if there's a x64 version of Windows Live Messenger?

From what I could find out, The answer is no. Mine is in the x86 programs folder but runs fine on my x64 system if that's what you wanted to know.

The notification area, on the lower right hand corner of the screen. You can decide whether or not to show things like internet connection, wireless connection, or whatever program like AIM, Yahoo, Dell Camera Software etc. it's next to where the time is.

The problem is, on windows 7, Windows Live Messenger is not even a thing you can show or hide. It NEVER shows up there, for some reason. On Vista, when you are signed off, it still shows in the notif. area as a little green mad with a red X. On Windows 7, whether you are signed on or off, or whether or not the program is even open it does not show up.

That was the problem, but I barely care now.

Also I hardly see the benefit of 64 bit programs or a 64 bit system even, and am confused as to why some programs are labeled x86 instead of just x32 to indicate it's a 32-bit software. How strange and misleading...

A lot of people claim there are 64 bit version of programs, but a lot of them turn out to be fake for instance the other day I was trying to download a 64 bit version of Video LAN (the thing that plays ANY video file ) and it was bogus and didn't work. I like downloading from the official sites, even when they're not 64-bit for my 64-bit operating system, and I don't see what difference it would make even. I read it would be more efficient, but I don't think it would be that noticeable.

Yeah I know what you meant, it doesn't show in the notification area, I just put a shortcut on the taskbar and that way I can access it or show if I'm signed in or not.

Yeah you see that's the only place it will show up in, but I like to keep my taskbar clean of everything so I can see that transparent-ness that is so cool. :)

At first, I thought it had to do with Windows Live being pre-installed so I un-installed then re-installed, but it had nothing to do with that. Windows Live just decides not to show up and/or Windows 7 doesn't think it's important enough lol.

Talking about WLM, would any of you know where I can find the Windows Live Messenger plug-in for x64 Windows Media Player 12? I'd like to have the 'Show what I'm listening to' option functional once again without having to use the x86 WMP12. Thanks in advance.
