Locked out from windows 7 administrator account

    hi!

the other day I was very angry and I changed my password without thinking and I somehow managed to not remember it. Now I'm locked out of my windows 7 starter edition administrator account and there's a ton of work I need to be doing.

is there any legal software or a method to recover my password?
or in other words, how can I hack my windows 7 account from another computer?
I have an Acer AspireOne mini laptop(no disk tray!!) and it's where I store all my work data.
any help would be much appreciated

p.s.: didn't know where to put this, and since I'm asking for a software or a tip I thought this might be the right place.

    Hi there!
Thank you so much for the quick reply I appreciate it.
Although, as I already mentioned, I have an Acer AspireOne (10.1" mini laptop) therefore I do not have a CD / DVD and buying an external one is out of the question since I am on a VERY low budget.

concerning the USB way, For some reason my BIOS is locked and I was not given a password when I bought it, I am not happy with that and I am thinking of calling Acer Inc in the next few days to b***h them about it. Therefore, the USB way is out of the question as well since I cannot tell my laptop to boot from something else than the primary HDD.

Do you have any other tricks up your sleeves?

    GothixKhan,

Reseting your CMOS should clear the BIOS password to allow you to reset the user password afterwards.

Refer to page 112 in the PDF manaul file link below for you laptop for how to. The previous pages will help show you how to open the case to get to this point.

And if the thought of opening the machine gives you the jitters, you can use the cmos/bios password recovery tool. Heres a comprehensive guide on how to do it.

Guide to remove BIOS password of Acer computer (Both Laptop & Desktop).).

Edit: The cmos/bios tool will not work if you cant boot into the comp at all. But scroll down the page and theres a method posted to know your actual password from the PQService partition.
