| | Windows Live Messenger Crashes at Startup I've seen other posts related to this, but I haven't seen any with a solution. I just bought a new Dell 64-bit Windows 7 Professional computer. So Windows Live Messenger (WLM) is a default install on Windows 7. The first time I booted up, WLM crashed. And now, most of the time I start up the computer Windows Live Messenger crashes. Any ideas how to fix this? |

| | Hi knoxbury, Try taking WLM out of the Startup list (type "msconfig" in the Start menu search bar), rebooting, then starting the program manually. What happens then? Cheers, Walker Windows Outreach Team |

| | Yeah I hear ya, you shouldn't need to manually do it. Try this: completely uninstall Windows Live Messenger from your PC and redownload it here: Essentials - Windows Live (you can selectively install elements of the Essentials package from the Installer) Let me know if that helps.
