How can I copy iTunes Ratings from XP to Windows 7?

    Hi all,

I have iTunes in Windows XP with hundreds of files, all of which I have carefully filled with artwork and ratings. I have installed iTunes in another computer and have all my music files there also, but I would like to know how to get my XP artwork and ratings in my Windows 7 installation...

What files do I need to copy from my XP iTunes into Windows 7 iTunes to do that?

    Thanks for any help, Noel

Apple has instructions for moving from one computer to another and creating the file to import into the new PC. Have you done that?

Here's a list of your options:

    Another Option:

I'll create a tutorial on the forums for future questions.

    notsograymatter,

Thanks for the urls... These appear to be to move entire libraries, but I don't really need that. Let me clarify - I have XP on one HDD and Windows 7 on another. I have my music on a 3rd HDD, so it is accessible to both XP and 7. I was able to have iTunes find most of the artwork through its own menu, but there is still some artwork missing that I have in XP iTunes. Isn't there a file, like iTunes Artwork cache, that would allow me to do a simple copy from my XP iTunes to the 7 iTunes? And a similar file to move my ratings from XP to 7?

At least that was what I was hoping for...

    Thanks again, Noels

    For everyone's info,

There's a forum for iTunes that has a lot of comprehensive data. It's called iLounge. If you have iTunes problems, give it a try. It worked for me,

    Hi Noels.

Could you pleases tell us which post or tutorial from iLounge did you follow to success?

I'm also facing the same problem. I could import the library, also the artwork but have find no way to get the ratings back. If I load the itunes folder from that disk in an XP system it loads ratingd OK.
