    Blank\White Icons

After using Ultimate Windows Tweaker to remove the shortcut arrow I have been getting a problem where I open a folder and it doesn't show any icons, either their the blank paper icon or just no icon. This happens with all sorts of files from folders, videos, pictures and custom icons. Sometimes I can just refresh the folder and its fixed while other times it stays like that until I close the explorer window.

I have restored all options back to default in the program but it hasn't stopped it.

    Can anyone help?

    Welcome to SF!

First, try a system restore to undo the changes the program made.

Then use this tutorial to remove the arrows: https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...e-restore.html

    Good luck!

All the ideas have failed me. I stupidly change an "open with" on a .exe file on a flash drive and that action made all the default icons white for executables. Which also means, that system restore links don't work, I can't run the CMD, I have tried to rebuild the iconcache.db file, nothing works! Anything that I could run (like a registry booster) can't be run. I keep getting messages that the .exe can't be found or I am asked to associate a default program to open with. Help!

I did add a reply at the bottom of this post, but even trying to download and run this free program doesn't work. How can I restore the icons without wiping out my HD?

Try this Ryan: Default File Type Associations - Restore

If that doesn't work, you may need to do a repair install.
