    I think that's what this update 20 addresses, if I'm not mistaken. Update 19 just came out a couple weeks ago, so the fast manner in which 20 came out is apparently to plug this flaw.

    The installer does uninstall the oldest version before reinstall the right one, downloaded...:)

    It normally uninstalls the old version but I found it sometimes leaves behind old Firefox plugins so I now make sure it is clean before installing the new version.

    You can also clean the "Temp Cache" in the java control panel...this will let you free and save your time of uninstall before new the install...:)
