    Windows Live Mail/Essentials Beta

    Good news-
A short time ago, I got a beta version of WLM which had the ribbon like Office.

    Bad news -
A short time after installing it, I fried C: drive, and somehow managed to erase everything on my data drive too - not a good day at all.

    Current news -
I cannot remember where I got/find the software. I don't recall if it was a Windows Live Essentials, or just Windows Live Mail. I think I was invited to get it because of past beta experience, but not sure.

    Question -
Does anybody know what I am talking about and how I might get it again?

It hasn't been in beta stage for a while, but Windows Live Mail is part of the Windows Live Essentials.

I cannot recall the "proper" name for the software - that's probably why I cannot find it.

Pretty sure it was a new version of WLM with the ribbon.

If you were officially invited to test it you'd likely have it on connect.microsoft.com on your dashboard.

I though of that - not there - that'll teach me to slack off on backing up to an external drive.

Sounds like you got a leaked copy which I really do not suggest using. Just my 2 cents though. :)

It might have been, I honestly don't recall. I have tried "leaked" copies of things if I know the source, but not usually on this machine. I have an older one for "play time".
